The Story Behind Celebrity Sleuths

This small, independent UK-based project was born from one simple, stubborn question that’s nagged at me for decades: why do the best celebrity trivia and mystery games always seem to mean endless scrolling, watching clips, or leaving the house?

I've been obsessed with celebrities, gossip, film history, and pop-culture puzzles for as long as I can remember. I spent countless evenings piecing together hidden connections between stars, spotting cameos in old movies, or trying to recall obscure facts from interviews and red-carpet moments. It was all about noticing patterns, connecting dots no one else seemed to see, and that slow, delicious thrill when the pieces suddenly fit together… that feeling never left me.

Life moved on—work, responsibilities—and the years slipped by. I still loved diving into celebrity stories, but the trivia games and quizzes I found online always felt passive: multiple-choice questions, quick videos, or endless scrolling through social media. I'd often think over a cup of tea: “What if you could be a real celebrity detective right here on the sofa? No need to watch hours of footage, no distractions—just clever cryptic clues, online research, deduction, and a real cash prize for whoever first names the hidden star or uncovers the secret connection?”

A couple of years ago, I finally stopped wondering and started building.

That’s how Celebrity Sleuths came into being: an independent project with no investors or big companies behind it—just a lifelong pop-culture and puzzle lover who wanted to create the kind of armchair celebrity mysteries I'd always wished existed.

Because this is a personal project, everything is done openly and honestly: winners are announced publicly (anonymised for privacy), proof of payment is shared, rules are crystal clear, and privacy is respected. I want this to feel personal and trustworthy—because that’s exactly how I’d want to play if I were entering.
